Design Notes
Honeycombing was an accidental discovery
The Triangle Foundation was added to break up the rigid layouts forced by square foundations. Its extra structural variety led to players unintentionally discovering honeycombing - now one of Rust's most iconic defensive base-building techniques - as a side effect the designers hadn't specifically planned for.
